What’s not to love about the puff of orange dust that hangs in the air as you powder a clay pigeon?   CFD, Duffy & Lee and Tandus-Centiva jointly sponsored “Clays for Courts,” supporting the POLK STATE College Foundation. This sporting clays event benefits the basketball and volleyball teams and a great time was had by all at the Teneroc Shooting Center in Lakeland. CFD’s own Brandi Flynn was there to cheer her team on, which included CFD’s Bubba Miller along with his guest Matt McPhail, Glenn Warlen of Duffy & Lee and Dion Flanigan of Tandus-Centiva.

To say that Arden Kelley has faced his share of challenges in his life and career may be an understatement. A Vietnam veteran, Kelley started in our industry in 1978 not long after retiring as a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel. He worked his way up through the business and eventually co-founded Florida-based Commercial Flooring Distributors in 2001, opening its doors just five days after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. That was the same year he was named president of the North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD). Kelley sat down with us recently to discuss his extraordinary past and shed some light on what he believes will be an equally memorable future. What follows is our chat:
